Ah, the first morning at Magic Kingdom was definitely magical, finally! After the crazy waiting for the bus the first morning, we realized that we could catch the bus right outside our ride, and it would be way less stressful! We got out there, and the bus came right away! We still missed the opening show with all the characters at rope drop, but it was okay. The Hrobars beat us, of course, but we rode a few rides before we met up with them. The Winnie the Pooh ride was pretty fun for everyone. Adilyn did not like the tea cups so much, but Brooke and Kacy loved them! I remember that being one of my favorite rides when I was little. We hooked up with them at Speedway, which was very disappointing and slow. After that, we went to AdventureLand to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain both of which were a lot of fun. Big Thunder Mountain was the first "real" roller coaster, and every single kid loved it! The line wasn't very long, so we rode it a couple times each. We had to take turns on both rides because Brooke couldn't ride them, but it was well worth it!
Meeting Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. They were so awful and mean. I seriously couldn't tell if they were being real or if they were just that rude, but I think they were acting...maybe! :)
We had lunch at the Be Our Guest restaurant, which was definitely the best lunch we had the entire trip! They had it organized so well. We had ordered our food online weeks before. All we did was walk in the restaurant, double check our order, and have a seat. The restaurant was decorated so beautifully! Every room was a different scene from the movie. We sat in the ballroom, and they just brought us our food. It was so much better than the stress of carrying our tray and trying to find a seat. Everyone liked their foods and loved their desserts!
After our lunch in the Beast's castle, we had to ride the Enchanted Tales with Belle ride. Well, we didn't know what it was, but we thought it was a ride. Turns out, it was a little interactive play "experience" where they go through the whole story, and at the end Belle actually comes out in her beautiful ball gown. It was pretty entertaining, for us all, and it was a great surprise to see Princess Belle!
Prince Charming's Royal Carousel ride!
Meeting Tiana!
The weather was not too bad, until it was time to wait for the Festival of Fantasy parade in the burning sun! We found an okay spot to watch the parade, but we moved into an even better spot (full sun) once it started. There were many princes and princesses and other characters in the parade, and it was very entertaining, but it was really hot! It lasted about 20 minutes, then we decided to go see if we could meet Jasmine since we had missed her at Epcot. We got to her line just before they closed it which was good, but it also meant that we had to wait the longest to meet her. Once again, it was in straight sun. I don't know if I have ever been that hot before in my life! I was sweating buckets, just standing there. The line moved painstakingly slow, but we finally got to the end, and Jasmine was amazing! It was her and Aladdin, and they talked to the girls for quite a while. Brooke was in love with her, and Jasmine even kissed her on the cheek before we left. Brooke showed her the tiny version of Raja that she had just bought, and Jasmine kissed it, too. Although I was super grumpy about the heat, it was well worth the wait!
We met back up with our favorites, the Hrobars for dinner at Chef Mickey's. It was a buffet, and it was fabulous food. We met Mickey and friends again, and we took our time in the lovely air
conditioning!
After dinner, we tried to ride the Monorail to kill some time, but that ended up being a disaster because we had our huge stroller and the Monorail was packed! Both Dana and I had gone back and forth about leaving then, but we all decided to stick it out and stay. We tried to find a good spot for the parade and fireworks, but they were already taken by the time we got back, so we made do and jumped up close to the rope when they closed the street down. Cory and Shane stayed back with the stroller, and Dana and I took the kids to the edge of the parade with everyone else that tried to jam up there to see it. About halfway through the parade it started to sprinkle, and in a matter of minutes, the sky opened up and it poured! Luckily, Dana had her umbrella, but trying to cover 8 people with a tiny umbrella wasn't ideal :) Poor Kacy got soaked! It was a bit of a stressful moment once the parade ended, and we had to try to get all the kids back to the stroller in the pouring rain and in the dark and going against the flow of traffic, but we survived! After that, we tried to decide what to do, and we ended up choosing to go on Space Mountain. There was no wait, so it was perfect. I kept waiting for the one ride that would scare the girls, and I thought it might be this one. Kacy got a little nervous when she found out that it wasn't a side by side ride, and she would have to ride behind me. She decided to go for it anyway! I got in front of her, and I kept hearing little high pitched noises, but I couldn't tell if they were happy or terrified. I yelled back at her at one point, "Are you okay?" She screamed, "Yeah, this is fun!" Message received :) We were all soaked, but we rode it a couple more times, then we headed back to the buses. The park was about to close, but there was time for Cory and the girls to jump on the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, which had been 45 minutes to an hour wait for most of the day. Brooke had fallen asleep in the stroller, sweet girl. After the last ride, we headed out to the bus for good this time, with three tired and wet girls and two tired and wet adults. What a fun day!
Waiting for the parade with Shane
Addy had a grumpy moment, but they were very few and far between!
