Summer Confusion

A couple of weeks ago we drove by Adilyn's school, and there were kids playing outside. She said, "Hey, why are my friends at school? It's summer!" I explained to her that some people still go to school in the summer, but she doesn't go because I am a teacher and I don't work in the summer. She thought for a moment, and then said, "Hmmm, well, can I go and play with them somedays? Because I miss Abby." It was so cute to see that she actually missed school. It made me feel good to know that she doesn't hate or dread going to school.

I had a dentist appointment today, so I took them to school this morning. Kacy cried a little, but thank goodness her favorite teacher, Ms. Irma was there to dry her tears. Adilyn was fine, but still a little confused. When I reminded her that we were going to school today, she said, "Oh, so summer is over now?" Thank goodness, not! We still have 5 more weeks of FUN!!!

I have never loved summers as much as I do now that I have my sweet little sidekicks to play with all day long! I feel so blessed to have this special time with them.
