Another year for Spring Festival at the girls' school! It was a crazy day - volleyball, swim meet, and the carnival, so we did two different sessions at the school. We went right after it started for a little bit, and then we went back after Adilyn did a few swim events. The girls had fun, as usual. The biggest hit was an easy game that had stuffed animals for prizes. Every time I saw Kacy she had another stuffed animal. Of course, with Brooke's love of stuffed animals, she had to get as many as she could, too! We also got a couple fun things at the silent auction as well. I got a new Kindle for a really good price, which I was happy about. We also got a candy basket, which the girls were happy about. Well, they were happy until we got home and played Beanboozled. That was awful! Kacy literally gagged after eating a rotten egg flavored one. I had to eat a barf one, and it was absolutely horrible. We quit after a few rounds, and I threw that crap away! It was a super fun day :)

Loooong Course Swim
We are doing both summer swim and long course swim. Last year, we had no idea what in the world long course even meant, but now we are practically swim experts! Most people will either choose to do summer league or just stay with long course, but we have decided to do both. It's making for a bit of a crazy schedule, but we really want to girls to understand what year-round swim is all about, and they don't seem to be minding so far. The first long course meet was a small intrasquad meet, and Kacy wasn't really into it, so we just had Adilyn do a few events. Her very first event was a 200 freestyle. When she saw the pool, she was quite intimidated, with good reason! It's a long way down to that wall! She did okay for her very first race, and she got her first B time in freestyle. A B time is the lowest time standard, but it's still a great accomplishment. She went back the next day and did a quick 50 breaststroke and 50 fly. She said those were much easier! I am so proud of these girls for the hard work that they are putting into swim! I hope they continue to enjoy it this much :)

Summer Swim Team
All 3 girls were going to do summer swim team this summer. It was going to be great family fun...Brooke had different plans. She did not want to swim in that frigid water. There were quite a few of the little ones that were freezing, but they powered through. Brooke wanted no part of it. We tried for the first few weeks to bribe, beg, threaten. It became very clear that nothing was going to work. We didn't want her to "quit", so we just decided that she wasn't ready and that we were going to try again next year. It was frustrating, but we are all happy now. The girls are having so much fun being back with their friends, and they are enjoying swimming in a smaller, less stressful environment!

Mimi Turns 60!!!
We all got together at a house on a lake near Tyler for Mimi's birthday. The house was perfect for all 20 of us to fit in for the weekend! The only thing that wasn't so perfect was the weather. We had one of our weird Texas spring time cold front come through, but we still had a great time! We had a tea party for Mimi's birthday lunch because she shares a birthday with the Queen of England. They set up an adorable little lunch fit for the queen that Kris is :) The rest of the time we canoed, paddle-boated, hung out, went on a hayride, hung out by the fire pit, and played around the house. One of the funny things that the kids enjoyed was playing a 90's version of the board game Outburst! Everyone had a blast, and I know that it makes Pop's and Mimi's hearts so happy when we are all in one place at the same time. There's a lot of us, and it was a great time together!

Adilyn's Spring Choir Concert
Adilyn had a great year doing choir at school. Every Thursday, she had to go up to school early for practice, and she never complained. I did, but she didn't :) She loved learning all about the different styles of singing. Their music teacher is absolutely amazing! The choir concert was fantastic, all the kids did great! I am so happy that the girls like doing all different kinds of things at school and outside of school.

Friends, Eggs, and Fun!
This camping trip had to be the best weather we have ever had while camping! Usually we have some great weather, then we go camping, and it's horrible. This was fabulous weather the whole weekend. We dyed eggs, went on some hikes, rode bikes, and the kids did a lot of art work. Kacy kept holding "art class" for everyone, her students were mostly just Hannah and Brooke, but she was okay with that. By the end of the trip they had painted rocks, sticks, the picnic table, and some pieces of paper. The other thing that the kids got into were rolly-pollies. They were everywhere, and the kids would capture them, name them, and make little homes for them. I always think it's hilarious that when we camp, they always find something different to entertain themselves. They always love to explore and ride bikes, but then there is always someone else that they get into for the weekend. We had a wonderful weekend with some of our favorite people! Adilyn lost a tooth on Sunday, and the tooth fairy and Easter Bunny hid her money in an egg for the kids to find the next day. They all had fun with that!

Spring Preschool Concert
Brooke had a little preschool concert for Easter this year. Nina, Tyler, and the boys happened to be in town for it also. Those are always so cute, and this year was no exception. Brooke always takes it so seriously and does a great job with her "moves". She always says, "I got my moves good, didn't I?" :)

Brooke's School Birthday Party
Cory and I grabbed the big girls out of school for an "appointment" to celebrate Brooke's birthday at school. She requested an ice cream sundae party. She was so proud that we all came, and the girls were really excited to help out and serve the kids their toppings. She was so happy!
Brooke is FIVE!
I can hardly believe that my littlest little one is five! She is sure a girl with a mind of her own, a sweet little heart, an ear-piercing scream, and a creative soul. I love her little fierceness, and her "don't give a dang" attitude with certain things. What comes to my mind in that respect is the she is going to do what she wants to do, when she wants to do it. If she doesn't want to do it, she doesn't! We will be at parks sometimes, and a kid will try to talk to her. If she doesn't get a good vibe, she completely and totally ignores them. It's not necessarily in a rude or disrespectful way, just like a "no thanks, not interested" kind of way. Hopefully this characteristic will only be used for good, not evil in the future! She still loves to color and draw, and most of the time now all her markers go on paper and not the walls. She loves to be silly and laugh! Any time she gets really giggling, she will get the hiccups. She loves to dance, and she loves to bug her sisters. This little 5 year old has her own little personality, and I just love it! (Well, most of it!)

Brooke's Birthday Party
Brooke's birthday party was an Elena of Avalor party at a jumpy house place. She had lots of friends from school join us and of course the Hrobars came for some jumping fun. The first half was a black light party with glowsticks, and most of the kids loved it. The second half was lights on, but still a lot of jumping and music. Everyone had a lot of fun!
