Oh, Canada!

We finally made it to the tip of our trip! We rolled into New York, and got set up at our campsite. Getting the rental car at the Buffalo Airport was a bit of a pain, but we survived. After we got set up, we found a restaurant to go eat dinner at. It was called the Silo, and it was right on the Niagara River. It was an amazing view, a beautiful sunset, and decent food. The girls loved it because all the kids' meals came with a free ice cream cone. It was a great way to start this part of our trip!
The next day we woke up and headed over to Canada. We had no idea what we were in for. As much as I researched for our trip, I was seriously unprepared for what the Canadian side had going on! It was complete chaos. People were everywhere. Tourist traps were everywhere. Lines were everywhere. It was truly insane. We decided to embrace the insanity, and we bought a "passport" for four of the attractions. We had no idea what we were in for! Every attraction we went to had a ridiculously long line because you had to take an elevator down to the base of the falls. The first one we did was the White Water Walk. It was pretty cool because you got to be right down on the Niagara River. I have never in my life seen rapids like that! The only bad thing was that as soon as we got off the elevator, Kacy got sick. She was white as a ghost, and she said that her legs felt weird and she couldn't walk. She eventually threw up down there, which was horrible because there was no restroom down there or anything. Luckily, at the time it was terribly busy, and we found a water spicket to fill up our water bottles with and wash the sidewalk up. Ewwww. Poor girl! The bad part about it was that we had to wait in line to go back up the elevator. I was so worried that she was going to get sick in the elevator. That would have been a mess! Luckily, she made it through the ride up, and she slowly got better. We did the Journey Behind the Falls after a quick lunch break. That was a much shorter line than it had been, but it was not worth it at all. You literally just looked out of these little portholes and saw the water flowing down. The next thing we did was the Fury of the Falls, which was a 4D movie. That was an easy in and out. Our last attraction was the absolute best, and we hit it at the perfect time! Earlier in the day, the line was what looked like miles long! When we got there, we literally just walked right on the first boat. It was amazing. The boat wasn't even packed full either. It was the best part of our whole day! The power of the waterfall as you get close to it is just insane. Water starts spraying everywhere, it gets crazy windy and crazy loud. We loved it! After the boat ride, we walked up to the crazy touristy area with the wax museums and other weird, expensive stuff. We ate a quick pizza dinner, and headed the heck out of Canada!
The next day we drove over to the American side, which is a state park. That was much more our style, and I really wish we had just spent most of our time over there. The view on the Canadian side was beautiful, but the chaotic atmosphere was not! We hiked around on the American side for just a little bit before heading out. We learned that there was a little part called "Three Sisters Islands", so we obviously had to check that out! It was a perfect way to end our Niagara Falls adventure. Now it's time to head back south!
