Our friends were nice enough to let us borrow their RV to take on a weekend trip, and we loved it! We drove to Belton to camp with the Griffins and the Stocktons. It was a great weekend! It was a little hotter than we anticipated, so Sonja and I went to Walmart in town and got a couple little water toys. The blow up boxing gloves were the best! The boxing matches were hilarious. I love spending time with all these kids!

Kinder Success
Honestly, I had no idea how Brooke would do in Kindergarten! I thought that Kacy was going to do just fine, and that was not the case. Brooke seemed excited, so I was hoping for the best. The smile she had on her face when she got off the bus said it all! She had a fantastic day, and I hope she stays this excited for the whole year. I am so relieved that she likes it!
Finally! First Day of School!
It was finally here! A week later than we thought, but the girls finally started school. They all had a fabulous day! They loved their teachers, met some new friends, and had fun. Of course, they were all excited to get their grade level number shaped cakes when they got home. I am so glad that the year is starting off to a great start!

Random Photo Shoot
It's always fun to see what pops up on my phone when the girls take it for a little bit. We were bored up at the pool, and they decided to have a little photo shoot. These girls are getting so big 💗

Meet the New School Night
We had Meet the Teacher before the Harvey mess, but they decided to have another open house so the kids could see their new school. It was so amazing how all the teachers and staff created a completely new school home in such a short time. The local high school came over and decorated the school with posters and window art. They all did everything they could to make it seem as normal as possible. The girls were all excited to finally get started, and they loved having different playground equipment to play on. I am so incredibly happy that they can stay in a place with all their friends and teachers that they know.

The Never-ending Summer!
We had our last week of Summerpalooza before school was actually supposed to start, so during our week off for Harvey we all went a little crazy. I had to work, so I was busy. The girls had been so ready for school to start, so they were getting super antsy. We did what we could to stay entertained - dress up, cooking, late night swimming, and playing at the park. Let's get these kids back to school!

Flooded Armadillos :(
There was only one school that got flooded in Harvey, and it happened to be our beloved school. We knew there was a ton of water around, but we really hoped there hadn't been too much water inside. Unfortunately, that was not the case. There was about 3 feet of water throughout the school. Everything was ruined. Teachers were allowed in to try to salvage what they could, but there was not much to save at all. As a former teacher, I can't imagine what it would be like to lose all your supplies and special items that you have collected from the kids throughout the years. It was devastating to everyone!
As they say, "after the storm, the sun always shines" and it did! We had to move to a new school, since ours was a total loss. Luckily, by some miracle, there was a completely empty elementary school just a couple miles down the road. We all got to stay together! It was a different building, but the same smiling faces. The teachers and staff did an amazing job getting the entire school ready in just a few short days. The district did a wonderful job making us feel welcome in our "new" school. They put up a new sign and called us, "Moore Elementary of Jones Road." The entire community came together and donated so many supplies and books that we couldn't even store them all. It was completely overwhelming and completely amazing. Donations just kept on coming in day after day!

Too Small Dress Up Time
During Harvey we were going stir crazy after a while! One day, the girls dug out all the dress up clothes. Unfortunately Kacy had grown out of so many of the outfits. Well, clearly she could "fit" in them, but she couldn't really fit in them. :)
