My Silly Stuff

I love random things that make me laugh. These are my two favorite new funny things. :) Seriously, every time I wear this shirt at the gym, I am laughing the whole time. I mean, a chipmunk lifting weights?!?! I also love taking my "I love big books and I cannot lie" bag to the library. It just makes me giggle. It's the little things in life :)

End of Our First Short Course Season

I finally got some swim pictures, not that they are great, but it's better than nothing! We have completed our first short course swim season, and I think the girls had a great time. I know that we loved watching them swim and improve and make new friends. We all learned a lot along the way for sure. They may not have finished at the top in every race, but they sure tried their hardest each and every time! So proud of them! Now we are off to summer swim and long course season. :)

Poor little sick Kacy! We shouldn't have had her swim, but the tough cookie did her best!
Kacy, ready to race!
Kacy's favorite stroke - the butterfly!

She was feeling a little better. Those teeth! :)
Kacy's 25y free, her last race of the long low-energy day.

Adilyn's 100y IM - butterfly and backstroke

Adilyn's 50y breaststroke - she dropped almost 6 seconds on this one!

Brooke's Valentine's Party

All these preschool parties are going to be over for us soon! This one was particularly sweet because Brooke's teacher asked all the parents to share their "love stories". Cory and I are the "old" parents now, since a lot of Brooke's friends are the first child in their families. It was pretty funny when we said we had been married for 16 years, and everyone was so impressed :)

Sickness Hit Us Hard

The Henderson's don't get sick, but when we get sick - we get really sick! It all started with sweet little Kacy. I got a call from the nurse one morning, and she said that Kacy had a fever of 104. When I got there, she was miserable. We took her to the doctor, and she was negative for everything. They said it was just a virus and to wait it out. So, we waited and waited. Then, Brooke got it. Same thing, crazy high fever and completely miserable for days. Unfortunately, during all this Brooke and I had to go up to Fort Worth for a meeting for my work. I took her up there with me because Cory was going to be a Watch DOG Dad the day of my meeting. The poor girl was so uncomfortable and so sad. Mom watched her for the day, and she just laid around and watched TV. When we got back into town, Kacy had relapsed and Cory had gotten it. What a mess! I got it a few days later, and then we were finally fever and cough free and back to normal! Sure glad that doesn't happen very often!

My Forever Workout Buddy

Brooke has been "working out" with me since day 1! We have ran, biked, gone to the gym, and everything in between. She never complains, and she is always up for a stroller ride. Usually she just colors away, watches for squirrels, or chooses the music for us to listen to, but sometimes she chats and chats. Lately, she has been wanting to run with me. Depending on how I am feeling, I will give her a little time to run. This day we ran up and down the hill and ran a little on the trail. She loved it! Of course, she has to stop and pick flowers if she sees them. This girl is so amazing! She gets to stay home with us a couple days a week, but she also has to put up with going grocery shopping, entertaining herself when Cory and I are both busy, and being drug around to wherever else we take her. She puts up with it all, and usually does it with a smile on her face! As much as I am looking forward to her going to kindergarten, I am going to miss my little buddy and our one-on-one time. When I told her it was time to exercise on this day, she said, "Wait, I need to change into my exercise clothes!" She came back looking like a tiny little athlete. Love this girl :)

Quick Huntsville "Camping" Trip

The Hrobars and us have had such a hard time finding time to hang out these days, but we finally found a weekend to go camping in Huntsville. Brooke and I were going to meet everyone there since we were coming back from Fort Worth. Unfortunately, Brooke had gotten sicker while we were up there, and we decided to go to the house to try to get a good night's sleep. We woke up the next day, and she seemed to be doing okay, so we headed down to the park. On our way down, Cory called and said that Kacy had been sleeping all day, so she clearly had gotten sick again :( Dang it! Dad and Kris were meeting us there, so we decided to go ahead and head down and hope for the best. It was a little chilly, but when we got there, everyone still had fun, for a while anyway. Dad and Kris hung out with the kids outside, in the camper, and taking little hikes. The kids found a little hide out that they loved playing in. We ate dinner, and then decided to head home. Cory started feeling sick, Kacy was miserable, Brooke was still recovering, and it was supposed to rain all that night - it seemed like the best idea just to get out of there. Adilyn was feeling just fine, so she decided to stay in the hotel with Dad and Kris for the night. Everyone else packed up and went home. It was quite a bummer since we really don't get to see each other very much anymore, but such is life. Better short, than nothing at all!
