Frio Weekend

I absolutely love camping with friends, but sometimes it's a lot of fun to just be together as a family! We went to the Frio for a weekend on our own in July, and we decided to float for the first time. It was so much fun. I had to walk 1.5 mile to the river access after dropping off Cory and the girls, but other than that it was a fabulous float. The river was flowing pretty well, and there were very few slow spots. The rapids were fun, but not too fast. We stopped at this one area and let the kids jump on a little rock ledge and swim around. The girls tried the rope swing for the first time, and we got to hang out on Monday when there was absolutely nobody there. My favorite time! The peacefulness of the river is so amazing and relaxing.

Crazy Summer Hair!

The girls have been wanting to dye their hair all summer, but I was being cheap and didn't want to spend the money. Then, I heard that you could use KoolAid! I can get down with that price point :) We went to the store, and the girls picked out their colors. It turned out so cute, and they absolutely loved it!

Mexico!!!

I had been waiting to go to an all-inclusive resort on the beach for a long time, and we finally got to go! We planned a trip to Cancun with the Griffins and the Hrobars to celebrate all the guys' 40th birthdays. It was so much more fun than I could have ever imagined! Our resort was super nice, and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious, the rooms were nice, and everything was wonderful! Our room was a swim-up suite with a nice little area that had a hammock outside that I loved to hang out in in the morning. My favorite part was the beach (of course) because each couple got two loungers and a palaba for shade. We would just hang out there and talk or read or go in the ocean, it was so amazing! We also played on the paddleboards and kayaks throughout the day. Then, we would usually go eat lunch, and hang out at the pool for the rest of the afternoon talking and being silly. The resort was mostly couples being romantic, so we were probably one of the most annoying groups there! We went on a short snorkeling trip one day, but we mostly just hung out around the resort. It was such a great time with just the adults - we never get time to hang out without kids around. I love all these people, and I am so glad that they are in my life :) I seriously never wanted it to end, and I am ready to start planning the next trip!

4th of July in the Navasota

We got to spend the 4th of July out in Navasota at the Durante's land of fun! The girls loved swimming in the pool, fishing, going for paddle boat rides, and riding the horses. Adilyn and Kacy even tried the dirtbikes out for the first time! Brooke got to ride with Shane, and she looked so adorable in that huge helmet. I kept asking her if she was okay, and she would just look at me and smile so big! Of course, we had sparkler and firework fun once the sun went down. I am so grateful that we get to experience country living out there!
Always great to celebrate our freedom and the United States with great friends and family!
