Somerville Camping

Oh, hail! We went camping at Lake Somerville, and we heard that there might be some rain on Friday night, but we were not expecting a thunderstorm that brought hail! It was crazy loud, and all the kids woke up for a while, but luckily we all survived and there was no damage to any of our stuff or the campers. The next day was pretty chilly and ridiculously windy. The kids were fine and rode bikes and played on the boys' longboards, but Dana and I were pretty miserable and cold. We can be wimpy sometimes...when it comes to coldness! Lake Somerville has been pretty beaten up by the floods lately, so there were not a lot of trails open. We did find one area that was open, and we hiked down there for a bit. It was all dead and weird, and it seemed like a wasteland. It's always funny because no matter where we go, the kids find something to entertain themselves with. This time they made two different "camps" and were playing games with each other. Sunday was a beautiful day, so we played some more before we packed up and headed home.
