Boosterthon was double the fun this year! Kacy ran first, then Adilyn was second. I love seeing all those little kindergarteners running their little hearts out! Kacy was going all out. She was running super fast, and she barely even looked up for a picture. I finally got her attention, and I motioned for her to come over for a rest. As she walked across the track of crazy 5 year old runners, a kid completely leveled her! It took her quite a while to recover, but I finally convinced her to walk a lap with Ms. Edmonds. I offered to walk with her, but she said, "No, moms aren't allowed on the track." Such the rule follower! :) She was a little disappointed that she only got 24 laps. but had she not gotten hurt, I know she would have blown through those 35 in no time! She was so excited to hug Brooke after she finished.
Adilyn wasn't with her class when her run started. I asked her teacher where she was, and she said that she was in the nurse's office because a boy hit her in the head on their way out. Another mean boy trying to ruin my girls' fun run! :) She seemed fine when she came back out, and she started running her laps. It's so funny how different Adilyn and Kacy are in everything. Kacy was taking the inside track, right in the thick of the action while Adilyn was way on the outside where things were more clear. Adilyn did get her 35 laps, and she ran very well.
As much as I hate fundraisers, I really like the Boosterthon! They teach about respect, exercise and community. The kids always have so much fun during the run, except for the many collisions!
