Night Night Songs
I love that Brooke just lays in her crib and sings herself to sleep most nights. Almost every night, I just listen to her sweet little voice over the monitor, but the other night when we were camping, I got to experience it first hand. We didn't have her in the pack 'n play because she learned to climb out, but because of that, I wanted to stay in the camper until she was asleep. The second night, she started her singing. Her song was a mixture of every song she knows, it went a little bit like this..."Doe, a deer, mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, snowman, empty halls, lonely, let it go." Every time she sang it, her eyes would close. When she got to "let it go", her eyes would pop back open, and she would start over again. Finally, she fell asleep, but there was something so special about watching her drift off to dream. I love those amazing random moments of stillness and peace that remind me just how lucky I am to be these three girls' mom!

Spring Break Part 1 - Funky Town
I always love Spring Break! First days of warm sunshine, time off, sleeping in...my job kind of threw a wrench in my normal lazy Spring Breaks when our Spring Break was a week before the girls' Spring Break. That meant that I had to wake up at my normal time to wake Adilyn up for school, but then I had nothing to do. It was kind of a bummer, but it was kind of nice to be with Brooke and Kacy without worrying about work. I did realize throughout that week, though, that things are not that much different when I am working. It's a little more stressful at times, but overall, the routine is pretty much the same. I decided to go to Fort Worth for a couple extra days to make it seem like we had a little mini vacation. Cory was headed to work out at the Frio, so we decided to drive up there on Friday night. We had a great time, as always! We went to the CR Smith museum, and the girls had a lot of fun with their "spinning and rotation" exhibit. My favorite was a super fast spinning chair, Adilyn and Kacy liked a giant sit and spin thing, and Brooke's favorite was the airplane. She stayed in that thing forever. It's pretty cool to walk inside the old plane, but it stinks so bad! I finally couldn't take it anymore, and I convinced her to go somewhere else :) We also saw a yo-yo professional do some pretty cool tricks. She impressed everyone! We also got to see the family, which is always a great time. The kids got along really well this time. Sunday, we couldn't decide what to do, so we ended up finding a Peter Piper Pizza to go play games. We gave the girls a ton of tokens, and they were in heaven. On Monday, Pops took us to the Children's Museum. It was pretty empty there, so that was great. We loved the "Wizard of Oz" exhibit. I think that I had more fun in the "munchkin" mirrors than the girls did. We ran out of time there, and we couldn't do any of the arts and crafts. Brooke loved the grocery store and train track area, Kacy played in the baby nursery forever, and Adilyn really liked learning about the dinosaurs. My favorite was thing that you could talk into and turn your voice into the Wizard's voice. The girls also loved hearing the different parts of the story of the "Wizard of Oz". We ended up watching the movie when we got home. They liked it, but it wasn't there favorite.
On Tuesday, we stopped over to see Laura, then we met Mom at the zoo. I hadn't been to the zoo in years, and it was so different. All the animals were out and about, and in love! We saw lots of animal kissing - monkeys, hippos, and giraffes. Spring love! Brooke was terrified of the monkeys; she wouldn't even look at them. It was really interesting. It was a beautiful day, and we loved seeing all the different animals. The otters were super cute, and the reptiles were pretty fun to see. The baby elephants and monkeys were adorable. Adilyn and Kacy had fun, but they just kept asking about ice cream. I kept telling them that we would get some at the end. By the time we got to the end, the ice cream shop at the front was closed. So sad! Of course, we had to stop at an ice cream shop to get some before we headed out of town. Each girl got to pick a souvenir. They all choose a stuffed animal. Brooke wanted to buy about 10 Pinkie Pie ponies, but I convinced her to only get one. Well, by convincing her, I mean that I took her out of the store before she threw a ridiculous fit, and Mom bought her one. They love picking out souvenirs! We stopped and got ice cream, then we headed home. It was a long day, but well worth it! I love spending time with my Funky Town family :)
