Brooke's First Words
I have learned with all the girls, that everything happens in time. Every phase passes, every bad habit gets resolved, and every milestone gets met. It may not be in the time that I want or hope, but it happens. Kacy talked pretty late, and look at her now! So, even though Brooke hasn't been talking too much early, I am not worried about it. She will talk. For now, her first words are (in this order) Uh-oh, Mama, Dada (although she now calls Cory, Mama), Coco (Dad's cat), and Willow. Maybe she will be our animal lover :)

Circus Time
The circus came to town, and we had to go check it out! I used to be terrified of the circus with all the creepy clowns and stuff, but things have changed a lot. The clowns are sillier now, and not so much in your face like I remember being traumatized by! The girls enjoy it, although it seems that they enjoy the souvenirs and snowcones more than the show. I don't think they understand just how amazing the acrobatics are or the other things they are doing. Kacy's favorite part was the acrobats on the horses, and Adilyn's favorite part was the guy riding a motorcycle on a tight rope. Brooke's favorite was eating popcorn with a spoon. Another fun times filled with fabulous memories!

Blue Bell Factory
We have been wanting to go on a tour of the Blue Bell factory for a while now, and we finally made it happen! Mom was coming down for a visit, so I thought we could meet up there and take the tour. We had planned to go to the aquatic center after the tour, but there was lots of rain in the forecast. Ice cream was still good enough for us to make the trek there! The tour was super interesting. I don't think the girls cared too much about all the goings on in the factory, but I was amazed! I asked more questions than our tour guide probably wanted, but I was curious :) The girls, of course, loved the ice parlor at the end of the tour!

Kacy Makes Me Smile :)
Kacy is a very verbal girl. She always expresses herself very well, and she tries to use big words all the time. She talks so super fast that she stutters over her words a lot of times, and it's hard for her to get things out sometimes. Usually, she uses words correctly, but lately she has made some funny mistakes...
*She came out of the bathroom with floss and said, "Mom, I really need to sloth my teeth!"
*She still says, "Daddy is on a cone fall." (phone call)
*Instead of special occasion, it's special vacation.
*She called Cory's whiskers, flickers.
*There was a problem with her and Adilyn not being able to share (imagine that!) and she told Cory, "I think this is a conundrum!" When I asked her where she learned that she said, "I just learned it in my brain."
*She kept calling experiments - experience. "I want to do an experience!"
*We were talking about Ryan and his girlfriend, and she said, "Is Porkaney coming?" I told her that she cannot call her that, her name is Courtney!
*"Why are your legs so springly?" meaning, prickly!
*She and Adilyn were playing in the pool, and she couldn't reach something under the water. She came up out of the water and said, "It's no use, Sister, I can't do it!"
*We were on our way to a spashpad, and she had a clip in her hair. She said, "Is this clip watertrained?" What?!?! We finally figured out that she meant waterproof.
*She has always been very observant about people's clothes. When we were in Fort Worth, she told Pops one more, "You wear the same clothes every single day!"
*Conditioner for hair is called "hair conditioning".
*Brooke was being crazy and screaming. Kacy said, "Take her to the organary office where grownups go!" I still have no idea what in the heck she was talking about.
*"Mommy, can I have a tiny?" After a bit, we realized she meant twinkie.
*We were picking out bandaids, and she couldn't decide. She looked at me and said, "Which one do you prefer?"
*Adilyn and her were fighting one day, and she told Cory, "I think we have a conundrum here!"
I can always, always count on Kacy for a smile. Love my goofy girl!

Fort Worth Summer Fun!
We had our annual Fort Worth summer fun week last week, and once again, it was so much fun! We had a cookout with the family on Saturday including some serious grilled veggies and lots and lots of other good eats. It was great to see everyone and let the little ones play! On Sunday, I had a little high school get together at a park. We had a tiny turn out, but it was a really fun time. It was hot and sweaty, but it was great to catch up with some old friends and let the kids make some new friends :) Monday was our fun day out for an adventure with Mimi and Pops. We decided to go to SeaLife Aquarium in Grapevine. It was perfect for the kids! Everything was at their level and easy to see. The tanks were all very clean and colorful. We saw a lot of rays, fish, and sharks. All the girls loved getting inside the tanks in the little bubbles they had. Brooke was amazed, and she just pointed at everything. At the end, they could touch some starfish, and they thought it was hilarious that one was called a "chocolate chip" starfish because its markings looked just like little chocolate chips. After we went through the aquarium, we went to the food court in the mall ate lunch, and of course had to take a ride on the carousel. Tuesday, we went to our favorite little play pool with Pops. The girls always have so much fun there! That night we went to dinner at ihop, and the girls went on a mini shopping spree at Pier 1. They both got little purses and some other little sparkly things! I love our extended Ft. Worth trips :)

4th of July - Happy Birthday, America!
We had a fun 4th of July at the Griffins house! They were kind enough to have us over for dinner, swimming, and fireworks with their family. The kids had tons of fun playing in the pool, swinging, riding 4 wheelers, and watching some fireworks. The kids were pretty scared of the sparklers at first, but by the end of it all they were all wanting to light them by themselves! Brooke was not a fan of the loud fireworks, poor girl! Oh well, maybe next year she will enjoy it a little more. Another great day of celebration with fabulous friends :)
