Adilyn's Gymnastics Program

Adilyn enjoyed doing her tumbling class at the Y, but in all honesty, it was a crazy class. After 4 months, she still can't do a cartwheel very well. Anytime I looked into the class, the kids were going nuts running and jumping all around. I just don't think there was much teaching going on at all, but she had fun, so I guess that's all that really matters. She was in a tumbling class, which meant they just did the floor and the trampoline. For the program, they had the kids doing all the apparatuses. She had never been on the beam, but here she was doing a beam "routine." She did pretty well, considering :)

Santa's Wonderland

I bought a Groupon for me and Mom to take the girls to Santa's Wonderland over Thanksgiving, but it got super cold, so we postponed our trip. We still had the tickets, so we decided to go up there on a Wednesday evening. We really thought we were going to get up there, see the lights, and be back by 9pm. Adilyn and Kacy both had school the next day, so we wanted to get home early. After waiting in line to get in, waiting in line for the hayride, and waiting in line for food it was pretty late. Luckily, it was a nice night and not too chilly. The hayride through the lights was fun, and the girls had a lot of fun running around a little stage area. It was a lot busier than I thought it would be on a school night, but I think that everyone else thought the same thing! Anyway, it was fun for the girls, and that's all that matters. We got home around 10:30, so we thought we would let the girls sleep in a little bit. Of course, Adilyn woke up at normal time ready to get the day started!

Kacy's Dance Recital

I made the mistake of volunteering to be the backstage mom for Kacy's recital. I should have known that was a bad idea, since I have watched them all semester being crazy in class. There were only 7 of them, but about 4 of them are a little crazy. I was hoping for the best. Within 5 minutes, I was being scolded for my kids being too loud. The other groups (of 15 or 20) were sitting quietly and coloring, while mine were running around in circles! Finally, I got them settled down after "going teacher" on them. Later when they were antsy again, I had to resort to letting them watch a video on my phone! One of the girls walked right onto the stage during any groups performance! I grabbed her arm right before she actually went out there and started dancing with them! For all the annoyance, the program was really cute. The girls did great (well, they were all over the place during their dances), but there were no major issues during their performance. I loved seeing her dancing and doing her thing!

Kacy's Christmas Preschool Program

I love Kacy's preschool this year! She has done so great there, and she loves her teachers. She has been singing Christmas songs since the beginning of the year, so I have been looking forward to hearing the songs! I loved watching her. She stays so focused on her teacher! A lot of the other kids were all crazy and off in la la land, and there was little Kacy doing all the moves for the songs pretty perfectly :)

Little Moments That Make Me Smile...

I have not kept track of many cute things that the girls have said or done lately, but I am going to try to remember some...
*The other day we were driving in the car, and Kacy said, "So, Mommy, how did you get Daddy to fall in love with you?"
*Every time any of us are sitting on the ground, Brooke will attack us from the back and give us huge baby bear hugs right on around our necks! My favorite is when Adilyn and Kacy are sitting close, Brooke will go for a surprise double hug :)
*Mom was with the girls, and she let them run around at Sonic with no shoes on. A few days after she left, Kacy said, "Mommy, I'm sorry but I've got to tell you something that you aren't going to want to hear. Nammie let us play outside at Sonic with NO shoes on."
*When we were camping, Brooke was crying at night when I put them all to bed. I went over to the camper to listen, and I heard Adilyn singing to her. She was singing, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" which is Brooke's favorite song.
*Kacy told Brooke the other day, "You are seriously my most favorite baby!"
*Brooke was walking away, and Adilyn said, "I just love her little butt." It is pretty darn cute :)
*Kacy had a weird day and wouldn't go in to dance class. She was crying, and acting all clingy. Later I asked her what happened, and she said, "I don't know, I just couldn't get my tears to stop falling."

Christmas Tree Farm

It seems like every single year we go to the Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our tree we are rushed. This year was no different. We got there a little later than we wanted to, and we were trying to beat the sun setting. We went to Spring Creek Growers Farm, which is a really fun place to go. They have a lot of fun things for the kids to do, and I wish we would have had more time to play. The trip served the purpose, though, and we got our tree! I love going to cut down a tree, it's a fun tradition to have. The trees are pretty, but the branches are so weak, they can barely hold the ornaments. Next year, we might try to find a tree that's a little stronger, which means we may have to pass on the Texas grown trees. We'll see what happens, I may not be able to give up the hunt for the perfect tree :)

Camping Trip!

We bought the Hrobars old pop-up camper when they got a new one, so we decided to go out for a weekend camping together. It was the week of Thanksgiving, and we decided pretty late, so there were not many places available. We decided on Goliad State Park. None of us had ever gone there, but we figured that we would give it a shot. We got the "premium" spots, but they were far from premium. It was really like a parking lot :( It was a little weird, but we ended up having a great time! There was an open field right next to our sites, and the kids really got into playing catch and exploring over there. We had a lot of fun together, as always! Hudson and Brooke played for about an hour one morning with chairs. Brooke kept moving hers, and Hudson would follow. They made a "base" which they called, "Mase Base" because Mason discovered it. We found coal from a fire pit and used it as sidewalk chalk. One time the kids went on an "adventure" together. We looked over and noticed that Kacy was frozen in place, for a really long time. As we walked over there, we heard her crying. Turns out she was terrified of grasshoppers. Every step she took they would jump around and freak her out. Oh, my little city girls :) The kids watched a movie together in the evenings in their jammies, the guys cooked a big meaty breakfast like they love, and we had relaxing time with wonderful weather. Can't wait for many more camping trips together.
