Our district got out of school a week before the others, so we decided to sneak to a waterpark before the summer crowds. The girls and I had a great time, kinda. I took Brooke on a scary dark waterslide when we first got there. It scared the crap out of her, and it ruined her for the day. She refused to go on any other slides all day, but she did love swimming in the lazy river. Luckily, it was a pretty small park, so Kacy and Adilyn could go explore on their own. We also got a free cabana for the day, so that was pretty awesome, too! Summer is starting off great!

Pool Party!
We missed our annual last day of school pool party last year, but we got to have it this year! The Hrobars came over for lunch and ice cream sundaes. The kids played in the pool and had so much fun :) I love these silly kids, and I am so thankful to have them grow up together and in each other's lives!
Last Day of 2nd and 4th!
I swear, the school years keep going faster and faster! 2nd and 4th grade is done. Kacy had a fantastic year! Both her teachers were amazing, and she really needed that after last year. She had some friends in her class, and she had a great year grade-wise. I think the highlights of her year were her teacher, drama club, and field day. Adilyn had an okay year, this was her first year of "girl drama" and that was tough at times. Her math/science teacher was great, but her language arts teacher was difficult at times. The highlights of her year were being selected for Student Panel, Fit Girls running club, and helping her teachers. She did great on all three of her STAAR tests, and finished with all A's and B's for the year. School can be wonderful and sometimes it can be tough (just like life) so we enjoy the good moments, and move on and hope for an even better year next year!

Brooke's Preschool Graduation
Brooke's preschool years have been so amazing! We have had great teachers, wonderful experiences, and made some nice friends. I think it's so important for little ones to enjoy their first exposure to education, so I am grateful that it has been a positive experience. Brooke's teacher, Ms. Karen, was also Kacy's teacher, so we have been lucky enough to have her for two different years. Brooke had amazing friends, wonderful experiences, and another great introduction to how fun it is to learn. Her favorite parts were finding out what the "drama center" would be each week, Spring Fling, music class, and swinging outside at the playground. I do not usually get sad about the end of certain chapters, but this one kinda got me. Last kid in preschool...off to the real world!

Dance, Dance, Dance!
The little dancer had her Spring recital on Mother's Day weekend. It was a crazy busy weekend, but it worked out perfect for us all to be able to go and watch her do her thing! She absolutely loved her outfit, with good reason, it was adorable. Her routines went very well, and she was so excited to get her first trophy! It has to be funny to be the little one in the family because you must wait and wait to do the things that you have watched your older siblings do forever. Anyway, she is loving it, and we are loving watching her do all the things she loves to do!

Field Day 2017
Another successful field day! It's always nice to see the kids having fun with their friends! They even had a tug-of-war this year, which was different. Kind of exciting, but pretty chaotic! Actually that kind of sums up Field Day in general :)

Drama Club
Kacy participated in the drama club at school this year. We thought it was just going to be fun little club where they practiced different theater type things. It turned into a much more involved situation :) They ended up doing an entire 1 hour play. Kacy was "Blossom", a superhero that could make people pass out when they sniffed her magical flowers. The whole production was pretty impressive, considering all the kids in the play were 2nd and 3rd graders! Kacy did great, and she remembered most of her lines! It was cute to see her do something totally different.
