It's volleyball time again!

Adilyn and Kacy are both playing volleyball this year, and I am coaching both teams. I just couldn't let someone else coach my sweet, little Kacy, and I didn't want to give up Adilyn's team. Luckily, we got most of our games scheduled back to back, so that will help to not make our Saturdays too busy. Both teams are full of sweet, hard working girls, and I am really having fun coaching them. Kacy's team, the Crush, won their first game. Those little cuties had no idea when we had won the game, then they had no idea that they should be excited about it :) Adilyn's team, the Thunder, had a little rougher time. They had to play a team that were pretty much giants! Two super tall girls that were overhand serving and doing it well. They kind of panicked, which was pretty understandable. We did win their 3rd game, which didn't matter for the match, but did matter for their confidence. The 3rd/4th grade division is a lot more competitive, so we will have to work a little harder. They did have some really fantastic moments, a couple decent rallies, and some great serves. I am so excited to see how much the girls improve throughout the season! Go Crush! Go Thunder!

Random Phone Pictures

So, every now and then, I like to do a post with some random moments that I have captured on my phone...
Super sunburned - bad mom moment :(
We watched the Hrobars one day in the summer, we went to the library and played on the computers. No fighting over what to watch or play! Best idea, ever!
Silly faces, with an Adilyn photobomb.
We were shopping at Macy's for work clothes for Cory. The girls were acting like a bunch of hooligans. We made them sit in the corner, but as you can see, Kacy was still having too much fun!
Sushi and McDonald's in the living room. Of course, Cory was out of town!
National Donut Day! Best reason ever to stop for a donut in the middle of the day...after a jog at the park.
Besties, reunited for some summer fun.

Flooding in the backyard = big muddy mess in the front yard to add some drainage.
 Muddy!

Pretty sure I was trying to work. She wanted to play, so she climbed on my shoulder.
Another dress up party!

Pops's Birthday Weekend Getaway

Dad has been talking about renting a house for his 65th birthday forever. I'm pretty sure that he has been talking about it since his 60th birthday get together :) We had some trouble figuring out a house that would fit all of us. Once we finally found one, a couple months later, the house had sold and the new owners were no longer renting it. So, the search was on again. Kris decided to go for a house that was a little out of the price range that we were looking for, but it turned out beautiful. We had a Pops's Speedway Diner theme for the weekend, and we decorated with Nascar and racing decor. Every single person was there, except Tyler, because he was still deployed. We had a fantastic time swimming in the pool and hanging out together. The food was great, the house was beautiful, and the company was the best part of all. I think it was everything that Dad hoped it would be, and maybe more.

Brooke and Mama, back again

Since school has started back up, it's just Brooke and I on Mondays and Fridays. It was a little bit of an adjustment, but we are back in the swing of things. We go to the park, go for runs, grocery shop, watch a little tv, and hang out together. I do feel bad for her because my Fridays are super busy with work, so she has to entertain herself for a lot of the morning. I try to take some breaks and do fun things with her, but it's not as much as I would like to. She is a trooper, though, and is much better than she was last year with being quiet. It must be funny to be a kid that has two work from home parents. They know all the rules about when to go into Cory's office and when not to. They know to not bother me when I have my headset on. Even though we are working sometimes, it's amazing to be able to be home together.

Quick Day Trip to Austin

Cory was hunting one weekend, and we had nothing to do. I was talking to Dad, and he said that they were going to Austin to hang out with Nina. We decided to head that way for the day to give us something to do. The girls loved seeing the boys! It was so cute to see them interact with them. We went to one of the coolest splashpads that I have ever seen, and we rode a tiny little park train. It was a nice and easy quick trip to see my favorite people in Austin :)

First Day of School - PreK

I am not going to lie, I was worried about Brooke starting school. Even in the last weeks of school last year, she never really wanted to go. I am pretty sure that every morning, I had to hand her over to her teacher's arms because she wouldn't walk in. This year, in Preschool, they have a car line. I didn't know how she would do with walking in on her own. We met her teacher, and she seemed comfortable with her. We had also gone to orientation for an hour, and she was fine staying there. She even said, "That was so quick of a school day!" But, all those things considered, I still wasn't feeling super confident. The morning of school, she said one time that she didn't want to go, but I distracted her with fruit snacks (yes, fruit snacks at 8:45am). We also went outside and took first day pictures like we did with Adilyn and Kacy, and she felt so proud and grown up.We got there early, and we were waiting in the dropoff line. She was unbuckled and hanging out in the car. I put her nametag on, and we started talking about her "squirrel" class. She seemed like she was doing pretty good. I was still nervous about what would happen when a strange lady opened the door and asked her to come out. We got up there, and it was totally fine! I kissed her, she jumped out and walked right in. It was such a relief! I got a little weepy because I was so happy that she was excited. Let's keep the excitement going! Rough morning dropoffs are the worst!!!
