Dana, Sonja, and I have been trying to plan a weekend away for quite some time now, and things kept getting in the way. First, we had planned to go to Austin one in January. We were watching the "winter weather", and we decided to cancel it to be safe. We rescheduled for a couple weeks later, and we rented a cute little villa in a vineyard. Unfortunately, another winter storm decided to come through that weekend, too. This one was pretty serious, and Sonja couldn't even leave Dallas. It was so sad, but Dana and I tried to make the most of it without her. The weather in Austin was pretty crappy, too. We went for lunch at a bistro at another winery and did a wine tasting. It was fun, but also a little odd to be on a girls' weekend in Austin with just two gals. :) After lunch, we decided to get crazy and rent a movie, get some snacks, and head back to the villa for a night in. It was a pretty lame girls' weekend , but sitting around watching tv with nobody asking us for a snack or to wipe their butt was pretty amazing. We sure missed our third buddy, but it was still nice to get away!

An "I Love You" Fart
Some people might think that in a house full of little girls, there are no fart jokes, no stinky shoes, or no wrestling. Although, I don't know what things might be like in an all boy family, we sure have our share of farting and other grossness. Kacy is usually the queen of farting, but tonight I got a special one from Adilyn.
I was hugging her goodnight, and she farted three farts right in a row. We giggled, of course, because that's what we do when someone farts. Then, she said, "That was me farting "I love you.'" Hilarious! That's my girl! Hopefully, she will be able to give that special gift to her husband one day.

A Sweet Sister Moment
Brooke had pictures on a pony at school today, and she was really excited about it. When Adilyn and Kacy got home from school, Brooke said, "Guess what? I rode a pony!" Kacy stopped what she was doing. Got down on her knees right in front of Brooke, looked in her eyes, grabbed her shoulders, and said, "Brooke, I am so proud of you." Then she gave her the biggest hug, ever. Brooke was so proud that she was proud. It was adorable! Moments like those make the screaming and bickering all fade away in the background.

McKinney Falls Griffin/Henderson/Hrobar Camping Trip
We had our very first Griffin/Henderson/Hrobar camping trip, and it was so much fun! The Griffins got a camper, so they can join in our outdoor fun now. We had beautiful weather on Saturday! The kids found a great place to hang out, and they made a cool little fort made out of logs they found. Unfortunately, with that wonderful, sunny day came our first major camping injury. We were down exploring the falls, and everyone was walking around on the rocks. The whole thing made me nervous, and I'm not typically a nervous gal. There were slippery rocks, sharp dropoffs, and sloping inclines to water. There were just too many kids with not enough adults to hold hands! Anyway, on our way back to the campsite, poor Luke slipped and busted his head open on a rock. It was pretty dramatic, and they ended up taking him into town, and he got 4 staples in his head. Luckily, although it was a pretty bad cut, he was okay. After they got back, we did a little scavenger hunt for Valentine's Day with the kids. They had a lot of fun following our little "treasure map" that we made for them. The best part was that when we were setting it up, the guys took them on a tiny walk so we could hide everything. We looked down the road, and they had the kids marching in a straight line like the Von Trapp family. They would stop and wave when a car drove by. It was hilarious! The kids had a great time playing in the woods, swinging in the hammock, and going on tiny adventures.
The next day, the weather was not as nice, but we still had fun. Sunday morning brought our second injury. Hudson was walking backwards and pulling a truck, when he tripped on the fire pit and fell in. The coals from the fire the night before gave him pretty bad burns on his palm. We didn't quite have the right first aid plan for him, so unfortunately he was in pain for a little longer than he should have been. But, with both of these injuries, we have realized that we do NOT have good enough first aid supplies and/or knowledge, so we learned our lesson and will be stocking up on supplies and information! The forecast called for rain, so the Hrobars decided to head out in the early afternoon. The girls and I ran over to Nina and Tyler's house to meet the newest cousin, Townes. We also got to see the Mastersons, so that was a nice surprise! The Griffins left after dinner, and we stayed to hold down the fort! Cory and I had a nice, relaxing night out by the fire, and we woke up to a rainy and cold morning. We hung out in the camper for an hour or two, playing, having tickle wars, and jump on daddy time. Then, we packed up and came home. It was a great weekend, even with the injuries that we had, we still made some fantastic memories. I love that all of our kids play with each other in different combinations. You would see Mason and Brooke playing, then look over and see Adilyn and Hannah in the hammock, and Wyatt and Luke playing in the woods. Looking at the pictures brought a tear to my eye, just seeing how all of them get along so well. I will treasure these times for as long as we have them!

3rd Annual Mardi Gras Celebration!
Mom always seems to be here around Mardi Gras, and she started bringing little masks and decorations for a "parade" one year. Of course, it's become a tradition now! The girls and Mom dress up in masks, crazy outfit, and makeup. They dance around and sing "When the Saints Come Marching In". It's quite a production. Brooke was actually the most excited this year, and she didn't want the marching parade to ever end!

Fun Night with Mom Friends
I haven't been super active in the MOMs club now that Kacy and Brooke are both in school, but it's still fun to get together every now and then. The other night we had a Moms Night In at Mary's house, and it was all about our weddings. We were encouraged to wear a bridesmaid dress, veil, or even a wedding dress if you could fit in it. I decided to try my wedding dress on, just to see. It fit! Lucky for me, it was only fitted around the chest, and then it flowed out at the belly. No way would I have been able to zip it if it was fitted to my waist 14 years ago! The girls loved seeing me in my dress, and they all got dressed up fancy and we played "fancy wedding girls" for a bit. It was pretty cute :) The night was fun! We all reminisced about our wedding days and how we met our spouses. It was nice to share those memories with people that didn't know us back then.

100 Days of School Party!
The girls had their 100 Days of School party today. They could choose to dress like an old person or bring 100 things or wear 100 things. Neither one wanted to dress as an old person, which I was a little bummed about. Kacy would have been perfect for an old lady with her little glasses and Betsy Ross dress, but whatever :) Adilyn chose to wear 100 paperclips made into jewelry. She had a headband, two necklaces, a belt, and an anklet. Kacy decided that she wanted 100 hairbands in her hair. I told her that we would have to do a lot of ponytails for that, and she only wanted pigtails. I started putting them on, and I realized there was no way they were going to fit. I thought she was going to throw a fit, but she was okay with just putting the extras on her wrist. We probably got 70 on her pigtails and 30 on her wrists. She called them her "weapons," and she said everybody wanted to touch them all day. They both seemed to have a good day, but Kacy was disappointed that it was really just a normal day with a few little additions. She was wanting a "real" party :)
