30 Weeks, and 10 more to go!

This 3rd pregnancy has been a lot tougher than the other two. I should not complain too much because I have nothing serious wrong, and I have none of the awful pregnancy symptoms that some people get. Still, for me, it's been the first time that I have "felt" pregnant. I remember when I was pregnant with Adilyn, I ran a couple times a week all the way until I was 8 months pregnant. I couldn't even imagine running at anytime in this pregnancy! I don't know if it's because I am older, because it's my 3rd go round, because I am teaching elementary PE, or because I am taking care of two active little ones. Whatever the reason, I have way more aches and pains than I ever had before. Man, I sound whiny!
A little bit about my Little Bit...this baby moves around at all times of the day. Adilyn was definitely the quietest when she was in the belly. This one shakes and shimmies all day long. Any time I have my arms crossed and resting on my stomach, she kicks and bumps until I move my arms. Maybe it pushes her down too much or something, but it sure bugs the little one! Her heartbeat is very strong, or so the doctors say. She does not get the hiccups as much as I remember the others to have, but when she gets them, they stick around forever! Unborn baby hiccups also make me laugh; they are kind of annoying, but it's so interesting to know that they go through so many of the same things in the womb as they do when they are out.
Adilyn loves to feel my belly and guess what part of the baby is where. She is always so sure that she has the right part! Sometimes she will match her body part up to what she thinks the baby is poking out. The other day she decide that the hard part of my stomach must be the baby's booty, so she put her booty up to my stomach, laughed, and said, "Booty to booty!" :)
10 more weeks to go to meet our newest tiny one, we can't wait!

So Much to Do...

After thinking about it for years, we finally decided that we need to move for sure. Of course, this is probably the worst time ever to move, but it must be done. The school that we are zoned to here is not very good, and we really want to try to be settled for Adilyn to start Kindergarten in a good school. The good thing is that we found a really great realtor. Well, at least she seems great for now. We will see how quickly she gets our house sold! :) When she came over to look at the house, she asked us when we want to be moved, and I told her that it would be great to be moved before the baby is born. I told her that I realized that this is a horrible time to try to move. She quickly responded, "There is never the perfect time to have a baby, and there is never a perfect time to move; so, you might as well do both at the same time!" I liked her from that very moment. We went through each room, and we started to go over all the little things that need to get fixed or redone. Our list kept growing and growing and growing - oh my! Fortunately, Cory has not been that busy at work, so he has been busting his butt to get some things done while we are all gone to school. We also have been working at night to get some things organized and packed up. It just seems like we can never get one room completely finished. I know it will get done eventually, but it just really seems like a neverending to-do list! I am nervous about how it will go when the house gets put on the market. I am nervous about finding a house that is perfect for us to raise our family in. I am nervous about keeping the house clean. I am nervous for lots of things. I know that it will all work out the way that it is supposed to, but wow - it's hard to just let go.

Go Rockets!!!!

Cory has been wanting to go to a Rockets game for a while now, so we decided to take the girls last Friday night. We didn't know how they would do, but we got cheap seats and gave it a go. Cory had let them pick out Rockets shirts to wear, but Adilyn decided that she didn't want to wear it. There was no reason why she didn't want to wear it; she was just refusing! She finally agreed, reluctantly, and we headed out. We got there, and they were mesmerized by everything going on around them. They loved watching the cheerleaders and dancers. Adilyn kept asking Cory who was playing, who was winning, what was happening, etc. Kacy was a little more antsy throughout the game, but she did pretty well. I was just very paranoid the whole time that she was going to fall down the stairs or out of the chairs or something! She was a little too squirmy or me to not be nervous. Anyway, we stayed for the whole time. Adilyn kept saying "Go Rockets!" and copying everything that the announcers said. Kacy kept clapping anytime she saw anyone else clap. We all did pretty good until Kacy tried to run away from me when we went to the restroom, so I ended up carrying her. As I was carrying her, she grabbed my cup (good thing it was empty) and threw it down the stairs where it bounced about 20 times before stopping. That is when I was done! Luckily, it was the 4th quarter, so we headed out. Overall, it was a fun time!

Attacked at bedtime!

Kacy is doing much better in her big bed, and she very rarely gets up. The only problem is that she still wakes up so dang early! I mean, it's not early in a lot of people worlds, but we used to have the best little sleeper-inners. Oh well, at least we got to sleep in on weekends for a couple years. :) She has started this crazy routine of completely attacking me with hugs and kisses before I leave her room at night. She says, "I love you too much, Mama!" and then she covers me with kisses all over - my eyes, my cheeks, my forehead. She does this all while having my neck in her sweet little grasp. I love it, but sometimes it's a little much!

And this too shall pass...but not soon enough!

Adilyn's tantrums have continued, and unfortunately they have been happening mostly at night during our bedtime routine. I have always strived for calm, easy, and relaxing bedtimes. There have been some rough patches here or there. I remember when Kacy was about 3 months old and Cory was out of town all the time bedtime was a nightmare! Kacy would be tired, but she wouldn't sleep so she would just cry all through Adilyn's bath and story time. I remember a couple times Adilyn would say, "Mommy, no read tonight. Kacy too loud." A couple of nights, I remember leaving Adilyn's room with her crying in her bed, Kacy crying in my arms, and just feeling so overwhelmed! Of course, we had some issues when Kacy moved into her big bed, but that chaos only lasted a couple weeks. Now our newest night time issue is at least 2 or 3 times a week Adilyn totally freaks out at bedtime. She won't leave Kacy's room, she won't get out of the bathtub, she won't brush her teeth, she doesn't want to wear the pajamas that I laid out for her, etc, etc...She will not listen to anything we say, and even though I always "win" the battle it's still a sad way to end the day. Luckily, during all the drama, Kacy is usually pretty good. She will say, "Mama, Adilyn being not nice today." Tonight was a good one! It would have been very entertaining to watch, I'm sure. It was not entertaining, however, to be a part of it. It started off with Adilyn and Kacy being super silly and hyper before bath. I finally got them in the tub, and it was going to be a very quick bath. I got Kacy washed and out, but Adilyn wouldn't stand up, so I had to "help" her out. Then, she didn't want me to clip her fingernails. She hasn't fought me on that for at least a year or so. She was making her hands in to a fist and kept trying to run away, so I pretty much put her in a leg lock and forced her hands open. It was awesome. After that, I fought her on drying her hair and brushing her teeth. The whole time I had her trapped some way in the bathroom. She wouldn't listen to me at all! I stayed pretty calm through the wrestling match, and I kept trying to talk to her and calm her down. Unfortunately there was no getting through to her. We finally got all the tasks complete, and I put her pajama top on. She told me that she did not want to wear those. I told her that she didn't get to choose. Then, she took the shirt off and said, "Ha ha, ha ha!" and threw it at me. :) Cory finally took her out of Kacy's room, so I could Kacy to bed peacefully. She was screaming and crying by this point. After Kacy was in her bed, I went to Adilyn's room and I finally got her calmed down. (Oh, and she was wearing the original pajamas that she earlier refused to wear.) She never really says why she asks the way she does, except for saying she is just really tired. I thought for a while that it may have something to do with watching tv before bed. We stopped watching tv, but it hasn't helped. I just hope it's some random phase, but what I really hope is that it ends, and that it ends fast!

Fun Weekend!

We had a great weekend, full and busy, but super fun! Friday night was Hudson's 3rd birthday party at a bouncy place. The last time we were at one of those, Kacy was a little timid and didn't like falling down all the time, but Friday was a different story! She was all over the place. She loved getting bounced around and going down the slides. I wanted to go down the slides at least once, so I put Kacy on my back and went up the biggest one. I didn't think I was going to make it! I didn't realize how much you actually use your stomach muscles when you are on those things! Finally, we reached the top, and I realized that at 7 months pregnant, I had better stay on the ground :) Adilyn had tons of fun, too. She is so much more sure-footed and confident, so it makes it a lot more fun for her. All the "boys"/dads also took their turns on the slides and bounce houses. A good time was had by all!
Saturday afternoon was our second party at a gymnastics center. It was our friend, Tracy's little girl, Emily's 4th birthday. Adilyn and Kacy had to wear their leotards, and Kacy looked absolutely adorable in her little gymnastics onesie with her little belly sticking out. They both did really good, and once again both showed absolutely no fear! Both of them jumped off the high ledge into the foam pit, and they jumped down the trampoline track with no problems at all. It was nice to have two active birthday parties!
Later that day, Cory went up to Trinity for a car club party, and the girls and I rested at home. After Kacy's nap, we decided to go watch "Beauty and the Beast" at the theater. I didn't know how they would do, and I was a little bit nervous that we would have to pack up and leave before the show was over. It was their first time in a theater, and they were amazed by how big the screen was! After they got over how loud it was, we were okay. Kacy randomly started crying when Belle was sad after her dad left the castle. I think she was sad because Belle was crying, but it was nothing a few goldfish didn't fix. Adilyn kept saying that she didn't want to watch anymore because the Beast was too scary and loud, but I convinced her to stay. All in all it was a good time! We have spent Sunday sitting around the house and playing dress up and making messes. A perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

"No Can, Too Little"

Kacy is getting pretty smart, and she is figuring out all kinds of ways to manipulate us! One of her newest things is that when she doesn't want to do something or doesn't want to try to do things she will say, "No can, too little!" Of course, she says it with this little smirk on her face that is just so dang cute!
The other thing she does is fake cry all the time. It's pretty obvious when it's fake, but Cory has started mocking her and fake crying, too. When he does that, she laughs hysterically, so then we know for sure she is just a faker!

Splish Splash! and other silly stuff

Adilyn and Kacy love their bath time, and they each got a Barbie bath doll for Christmas which made it even more fun! The problem...they both want the same doll, and I made the mistake of getting them a Belle and an Ariel. Now, the funny thing is that they both want the same doll, but it isn't always the same one. Now we share them, and Kacy will get to choose which one she wants first one night, and Adilyn gets to choose which one she wants the next night. Oh boy! They other thing they love doing is putting bubbles on their face. Kacy will get a whole bunch of bubbles, put them on her face and say, "Mama, soap my face?" about 10 times in a row. She thinks it's just the funniest things ever! Adilyn loves when they get their hair all soapy and get "grandma hair".
The other thing the girls love to do is "hook" on to each other and run around the house. They will either grab each other's clothes, tie a rope to their waists, or just grab onto something at each end and walk around. The other day, Kacy was pushing a stroller, Adilyn was carrying a baby, and they had a jump rope tied to each other as they ran around the house.
The girls love to wrestle and/or jump off things onto each other. I thought only boys wrestled?!? Not the case in our house!
I love when they get along and play so well with each each...just wish it was like that all the time!

"Say Bye My Friends"

For the last couple weeks Kacy has gotten into the habit of wanting to go back into her classroom to "say bye my friends" when I come and get her each day. I keep telling her to say bye to her friends before she walks out of her classroom, but of course, that is not nearly as fun. Adilyn has now started doing it, too. Today, a new trend started. They both have to go to each other's classroom to say bye to each other's friends. It's super cute, but goodness gracious, it takes us 15 minutes to leave the school!

Oh Baby (Names)!

Seriously, naming babies is nowhere near as fun as I thought it would be! I really liked the name Bethany for this baby, but Cory didn't like it. I started the baby name search all over again, and the names on the websites are ridiculous! I mean, really, who is going to name a kid Adatha, K'No, or Idita. There are thousands and thousands of names that are completely non-names! I thought I would ask Adilyn and Kacy what they wanted to name the baby. Adilyn said she wanted Abby, but I told her that Addy and Abby would be way too confusing. Then Kacy said, "Pink". Adilyn said, "Yeah, that would be perfect because she is a girl, and her other name could be Purple!" Nice, Pink Purple Henderson. :)
After looking through some names my final choices are Breann, Brooke, or Bailey. Don't know why they all start with a B, but they do! If we can't decide on one of those, then I guess it will be Pink!

New Year's Eve fun!

We had a great time on New Year's Eve over at the Hrobar's house! The evening was spent watching the neighbor's fireworks show, eating dinner, watching all 5 kids run around being loud and crazy, and playing video games. What more could you ask for? We headed home around 11:15, and the girls crashed in the car pretty quick! Cory and I enjoyed all the fireworks on the way home, and when we got to our house we asked the girls if they wanted to look at any. They both said that they were way too tired! :) I had a feeling that the noise of all the fireworks at midnight would wake them up, but they were out! Nothing like a night with the Hrobars to tire them out :)
